He slipped in between reality and a dream
The walls collapsing all around him
His contradictions are debris falling on his head
Everything he knew is crumbling
Every ounce of strength exerted to preserve it
None of which is changing the outcome
A life lays in ruins
The wreckage a eulogy to his efforts
Every tear he sheds a tribute to the endeavor
In the rubble are the building blocks of his future
At the moment he can’t see past the dust and pain
But there will be a time when he begins again
